Uchiha Inês

I will say this once, and once only: I DO NOT LIKE TWILIGHT. I tried to see the films, and (god forbid) I even tried the book, and I just couldn't do it. So if someone mentions that dreadful franchise, I swear on my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you.

Anyway, Uniqso were kind enough to let me try out one of their contact lenses for a review. While I was browsing their profucts I found THE MOST AWESOME pair:

If you don't know what this is (shame on you), it's from Naruto, a series of manga (and anime based on it) and one of the families in the story have the ability to get their eyes like this.
So I'm oficially an Uchiha! :D

Now, onto the lenses. I'm a regular contact lens wearer and lover (glasses just enhance my geekiness way too much), and I've tried loads of brands. I have always managed to adapt really well to every single brand, despite the obvious dry eyes everyone gets after wearing them for a whole day.
I have never tried cosmetic lenses, but to be honest I was expecting them to be much less comfortable: they are soft lenses just like the regular ones, but slightly less comfortable. I will definitely not be able to wear them a whole day, but they would be fine for a few hours.

Ow, and if you're a blogger, you can review some of their lenses too!

Hobbit outfit

If you were expecting me to be dressed up as a Hobbit, sorry to disappoint you, this is what I wore to see the Hobbit (which I liked) (ok, which I LOVED).
Also, I feel bad for the lack of posts. I've even got a few e-mails asking me if I gave up blogging, I didn't, I've just been neglecting it.

I have been wearing this Snoozer Looser scarf way too much, but how can I resist, just look at it!

It's one of the most versatile scarfs I own, not too thick if it's a bit warm, but cozy enough for chilly days. Also, the good people at Snoozer Loser hand print their scarfs with water based pigments, so that's why mine isn't the exact same colour as the sample one (and let's be honest, the flash on the photo helps the colour change)
Anywayyyy, if you'd like to get your hands on one of these babies, you can have 5$ off by entering the code INES at the checkout!

Book Report - Crusher by Niall Leonard

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI found this book through Goodreads, and it only really interested me because it was written by E.L. James' husband (aka the woman that wrote 50 Shades of Grey). Now, I didn't read any of Mrs James' novels, nor do I plan on it, since I was told the writing was really bad. I'm not a fan of the whole romance or erotic novels, I'm a fantasy and crime girl, so I was very interested to hear that Mrs James challanged her husband during last year's NaNoWriMo and that his novel had been published. Also, it's meant to be a crime novel, which obviously made me very curious.

While at work, I saw that the book was 4£ off, so why not give it a try?
First of all, the book's "slogan" is misleading: "To catch a killer he had to become one"? Really? He does kill people in the book, but this is very misleading. I was expecting him to go on full on rampages, or... I don't know, I expected something interesting to happen.

It isn't a great story, and it definitely isn't great writing (things like a minor character's name changed from one page to the other really annoy me), but if in a mystery/crime novel you are still surprised in the end by the identity of the killer, it's still ok. And that was the reason why I gave it 3 stars on Goodreads, and not less.

London! Part 1

First of all: I've done an interview at My Heart ain't a Brain, head over to Ana's blog to check it out!

Second, I told you I'd show you the rubbish photos I took when I went to London, but for some reason I forgot to do it. Here they are! (Keep in mind I bought a 30£ camera just to take the photos. I shouldn't be surprised that the photos turned out to be really really rubbish)

The 6 hours it took me and Sam to get to London weren't great. He mostly listened to music and I mostly read The Hobbit and looked at the view. By the time we got to London we were both exausted and just watched TV in our room and fell asleep.

On day 2 we went to the Natural History Museum, but we got there way too early and it was still closed (genius), so we went for a stroll at South Kensington and we bumped into Royal Albert Hall.

After the museum opened, my boyfriend went to a photography exhibition and I met up with Raquel from Black Sheep for breakfast, who was wearing a gorgeous Orla Kiely scarf and pointed me in the direction of Uniqlo.

After that we walked up to Tate Modern to see another photography exhibition, and on the way I had a great touristey view of London, and even made a little furry friend on the way.

After that we walked to the Strand, to go to the gallery where my boyfriend had his exhibition. Then we had a little night walk through Piccadilly Circus, Chinatown, Covent Garden and several other places. My camera is ESPECIALLY good at night, so there's hardly any good photos to show you. But I can guarantee you it was absolutely lovely (except the pain in our feet from all the walking. We were DEAD).

We were so tired from all the walking we had to head back to Moorgate to order food and eat it in our room.
I'll show you where we went the next day (videos included!) on another post, otherwise this would be the longest post ever!
